Want to run some wires through your firewall but don't want to make the hole huge to fit those big plug ends through? Well, if that is you, we have found a solution! This Firewall Harness has everything needed to get those plugs through your firewall.

STEP 1:

Lay out and cut the firewall as per the drawing below. The outside edge of the vertical U-channel is 13mm from the hole centerline, so you can subtract that from the 29, 50 and 110mm if the U-channel is already installed. You must make a cut between the rectangular opening and the 1" hole to slip the wire through.

If the U-channel is installed, grind or file the side off one of the larger plastic grommets so it fits between the vertical U-channel and the 1" hole. If not, use one plastic guide to hold the steel cover plate in position and drill all the remaining holes in the firewall from the plate. Hold the plate parallel to the horizontal row of holes in the firewall. Once the U-channel is installed, trim the side of the plastic grommet to fit the U-channel.

Cut a passageway between the 1" hole and cutout for wires to pass through. This will work for any Rotax plugs and can be used on other engines as well. There is a third plastic grommet setup for you to place where you think best for running wires you need to run other than the supplied engine harness.
One person chose to install another on the side with the solenoids (see below image).

When you've finished running your wires and testing, place some Proseal around the wires to seal the opening and prevent movement.
