This skylight seal kit will give you a good seal between the windshield and skylight as well as give you something for your screws to hold on to other than the plastic. It also fills the gap and seals the skylight to rear fuselage to do away with the leaks that are common in these aircraft and once again gives some metal for the screws to press against rather than just the plastic.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Aft Skylight Seal Strips
Fit filler to match spacing on either end. Pre drill #40 holes to hold it in place. You will eventually install 6-32 screws in these holes.
Fit and match drill Plastic wedge spacer.
Fit and match drill the top trim strip and forward outboard hole on each side as shown below. Place the skylight in position using the top trim strip to line up holes and mark or drill plastic window.
Step 2: Forward Skylight Seal Strips
Position lower seal strip under formers.
Position windshield and skylight then top seal strip. Drill holes in top of skylight through both seal strips and cleco. Drill holes through windshield and seal strips into 4130 steel cross tube for screws.
- NOTE - Final size of holes in the 4130 tubes to be sized according to Zenith plan, not #27.

Step 3: Drill skylight and formers
Drill through skylight and formers for installation screws. Disassemble everything. Upsize holes in plastic windshield and skylight to #20. Drill holes in aluminum to #27 to fit 6-32 screws. Deburr all holes. It is now ready for paint, sealant, or assembly.
-NOTE- Do not trim upper strip shorter than windshield as shown below. Only one hole is required on the ends. These were not done correctly.

Step 4: Final Installation Sealing
I recommend Pro form Strip caulk 300 (black) or or 301 (white) for sealing. It should be available from an automotive body shop supply house. You will need to roll it like plasticine to a smaller diameter as it comes in too large a diameter strips. Your water leakage is now over.
